A unit from the West Columbia Fire Department arrived on the scene and was checking out one of the occupants of a vehicle that was involved in the collision. A dense fog had descended over Lexington County at daybreak, Thursday. On Sunset Boulevard, at Riverbank Elementary School and Northside Middle School, and I-26 visibility was reduced as a result of the fog. By 8 a.m. the fog was beginning to burn off.
