Units from the West Columbia Fire Department were on the scene of a gas line break after 1 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Arehart Street.

Traffic was blocked on all lanes of Sunset Boulevard between Botanical Parkway and Arehart Street, according to the West Columbia Police Department. Traffic heading east is being diverted up Klapman Road while west bound traffic is being diverted up Botanical Parkway. A crew was installing underground lines along Sunset Boulevard before the gas line rupture occurred.
