Brookland-Cayce Coach Bettis Herlong going to S.C. Hall of Fame

Fatal accident investigated in Gilbert

The South Carolina Highway Patrol was investigating a fatal accident in Lexington County Saturday night. According to a S.C. Department of Public Safety  report the accident occurred about 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ben Franklin Rd at Frank Harmon Circle in Gilbert. Sheriff’s Department investigators have arrested a Columbia man on multiple charges related to the escape of an inmate who was serving in a work release program.
