Winter Storm Warning issued for Lexington County for Friday by the National Weather Service – Ice accumulation predicted

A Winter Storm Watch has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning by the National Weather Service for Friday and Friday night. A Winter Weather Advisory is also in effect for areas along and just south of the I-20 corridor. Confidence in impactful ice accumulations has increased in the warned area.

The West Columbia Police Department has released its “Monthly Statistical Review” for December. The WCPD reported 10 break-ins, 3 burglaries, 29 DUIs (highest month for the year) and 6 vehicle thefts. It shows that there were 3,153 calls for service for the month.
