There are three open seats on the Lexington 2 School Board. The election is Tuesday. Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. The six candidates are running: Linda Alford-Wooten, Christina Fitts Rucker, Brad Giles, Wayne Roy McKim, Michael John Neal and James Bud Summers.

Lanes of I-26, near US 1, were closed after truck jackknifes,

All lanes of I-26 west were closed Monday morning, for several miles near US-1 (Milemarker 111) due to a jackknifed truck. Motorists were asked to take an alternate route, around 9 a.m. Monday. The lanes were eventually opened- and all was clear, according to the West Columbia Police Department.
