Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died in a vehicle collision that occurred in the 200 block of James Dunbar Road near Pelion shortly before 9 a.m., Friday.

According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. David Charles Dickerson, 52, of Pelion was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. Mr. Dickerson’s vehicle was eastbound when an oncoming vehicle crossed the center line and the two collided. Mr. Dickerson was not wearing a seat belt when the collision occurred.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to an area hospital; the condition of that individual is not known. The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
