Lexington County Councilman Glenn Conwell will face a primary challenger, Councilman Todd Cullum unopposed, Ted Stambolitis, owner of Flight Deck, running for county council seat

A challenger filed to run against Glenn Conwell in the June 9, GOP primary. Conwell represents West Columbia, District 8, on Lexington County Council. Conwell, who replaced Ned Tolar, has served two terms.

Evelio Doque filed to run against Conwell. Filing closed Monday at noon. Doque is a West Columbia realtor. Dist. 9, Councilman Todd Cullum, who represents Cayce, did not draw a challenger, and will run unopposed.

Ted Stambolitis, who owns the Flight Deck restaurant in Lexington, filed to run against incumbent Larry Brigham for the District 2 seat on county council. District 2 includes the Gilbert and Batesburg-Leesvile area of the county. Stambolitis served on Lexington Town Council until 2018. He left office when he moved out of the town limits.

Dist. 7 Councilwoman Beth Carrigg is being challenged by Jason Guerry. District 7 includes the Lake Murray dam and the St. Andrews area.
