“I get stone-ground, freshly-ground organic flour from Carolina Ground Mill in Hendersonville, NC. It’s a very different kind of flour. It keeps the integrity of the grain and the oils are left in the flour. It’s heather and delicious,” Sophie said.

The bread takes two-and-a-half days to make. Sophie bakes several varieties of bread and scones. There’s the: Garlic Herb Focaccia; Jalapeno Cheddar; German Rye; Cheese and Rosemary; and Hazelnut Chocolate. She also bakes Blueberry Lemon Sourdough Scones and Coffee Walnut Scones.

Cayce Mayor Elise Partin is a customer.

“It’s wonderful to have a business like LoveyouLoaves in the City of Cayce,” said Cayce Mayor Elise Partin. “And the relationship with Jayson and Mi Young at Dialed Bicycle Shop is great. It adds to the richness of the community.”

How did Sophie learn to bake so well?

She is from Henley-on-Thames in Great Britain and was a student at London’s Prue Leith School of Food and Wine. In 2004, Sophie was the caterer for a Florida Motor Sports Team at the Le Mans race in France. There, she met Jerome, her husband. The two lived in Delray Beach FL and Sophie served as Hospitality Manager for Champion Racing.

Mayor Partin said Sophie is always learning more about the bread-baking process and producing more products. Sophie is traveling to England in November to take part in a seminar from aa expert sourdough baker.

Jerome took a job in the area in 2017 and Sophie and Jerome moved to the Avenues of Cayce and it’s been great. “I love it here,” Sophie said. “I’ve fallen in love with the place. Everyone has been so good here. It’s a place where I belong.”
