WoodmenLife presents flags at Cayce Elementary ceremony
Members of WoodmenLife Chapter 273 dedicated and presented US and South Carolina flags to Cayce Elementary School in front of many of the school’s staff and faculty, Thursday. With the anniversary of the 9-11 attack on Monday, the ceremony was entitled “In Honor and Remembrance.”
Ann Addy of WoodmenLife spoke of the importance of the flag and remembering those who fight for our freedom. She quoted President Abraham Lincoln who said: “A nation that does not honor its heroes will not long endure.”
Cub Scout Tanner Addy, a CES student, presented McClary with grommets from the retired flag that formerly flew at Davis Early Childhood Center, one of the schools that now makes up the CES student body.
WoodmenLife also gave the school 120 flags for the school’s classrooms.
Also representing Woodmen life were: Mike Shealy, Gene Alexander, Nancy Dyckes, Carroll Shealy, and Ray Campbell. (pictured below)
