Woman’s Club of Cayce presents $8,000 grant to the Scooter Scott Ministry, Snack Pack Program

The Woman’s Club of Cayce is pleased to announce the presentation of an $8,000 General Federation of Woman’s Clubs, South Carolina (GFWC-SC), Progress Foundation Grant to the Scooter Scott Ministry, Snack Pack Program.

The GFWC-SC Progress Foundation provides grants to local South Carolina Women’s Clubs for community projects, funded by an endowment established in 1951. Local GFWC-SC clubs apply for funding for various community initiatives and funds are generated from the interest on the original endowment. 

The Woman’s Club of Cayce supports the Scooter Scott Ministry Snack Pack program by financial and food contributions as well as volunteering monthly. The Scooter Scott Ministry’s Mission is to provide food, clothing and tutoring services for students experiencing food insecurity and other unmet needs. The snack pack program provides 800 students each month with packages of supplemental after school snacks for students in the Lexington Two School District attendance area which includes Cayce, West Columbia, Springdale, Pine Ridge and South Congaree.

The progress foundation grant was scheduled to be presented to Jeff Jones, Director of the Scooter Scott Ministry by Ann Malpass, Woman’s Club of Cayce Past-President, during the Woman’s Club of Cayce’s February General Business Meeting on Tuesday, and will be shared in posts via the club’s social media channels.
