Woman charged with attempted murder, arson
A Lexington County woman is facing charges after a fire destroyed a house on Rollingwood Drive.
According to arrest warrants, Monica Lynn Calderwood, 29, set fire to a family member’s home late on Nov. 18 while she and three other individuals were inside. Calderwood has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of arson.
None of the individuals, including Calderwood, injured in the fire suffered life-threatening injuries.
Calderwood was arrested Nov. 20 by Richmond County, Georgia deputies. She is being held in Augusta at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center while she awaits an extradition hearing.
