Joy Ellen Knotts, 40, has been charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent, value more than $2,000 but less than $10,000, according to a news release from the State Law Enforcement Division.

The incident happened over a six-year period while she worked at Claude A Taylor Elementary School in Cayce, said SLED. Knotts is accused of taking money for her own use from the parent teacher organization or PTO.

The SLED warrant states Knotts was in charge of funds.
