Shop with your local merchants. They are doing all they can to serve you. That was the message from South Congaree Mayor Cindy Campbell. She spoke at the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber “Holiday Love Local Ceremony ” where the Chamber office at 1006 12th St., was illuminated for Christmas.

Campbell also reminded the crowd – that assembled in front of the Chamber headquarters – to attend the variety of parades and Christmas events being held in all of the communities in the Greater C-WC Chamber area, including: South Congaree; Pine Ridge; Springdale; Swansea; Columbia; and Cayce-West Columbia.

It was the inaugural lighting ceremony, said Chamber Board Chair Lindsay Miles, and it was sponsored by Lexington Medical Center.

Tim James told  the audience to “Back up from the computer,” and shop local.

Dr. Eddie Coakley of Trinity Baptist Church, Cayce, delivered the Invocation and the Busbee Creative Arts Academy Chorus provided Christmas music for the event.
