Wilton Road repaired, and open, ahead of schedule

From West Columbia City Councilman Mike Green’s Dancing on Wilton Road video.

Wilton Road in the Springdale community is open. The opening is more than a month ahead of schedule.

Rep. Micah Caskey, who lives near the road posted: “At long last it’s finally open again! Thanks to everyone that worked so hard to get this project done — it took all of us pulling together and now it’s finished!”

West Columbia City Councilman Mike Green did a dance on the newly opened road. “You can drive down Wilton Road,” Green said.

Wilton road was washed out in the 2015 flood. It had been road-blocked since. Some called the 2015 flood a 1,000-year flood.

In February, S.C. Department of Transportation Engine Jeremy Yuhas said
the completion date on the Wilton Road repair was April 30. But the repair was completed and the road has opened early.
