William Amick, Lexington High grad, is Clemson Outstanding Agricultural Alumnus

William Amick

William B. Amick, a graduate of Lexington High School, has been named the Outstanding Young Agricultural Alumnus at Clemson University.
Amick, a 2012 Clemson University graduate with a degree in applied economics and statistics and a minor in business administration, is a partner, advisor, and registered representative with Amick and Associates in Columbia where he develops business and wealth management plans.
An active community member, Amick is involved in the Young Farmer and Rancher Organization of the Lexington County Farm Bureau. He chairs the Youth and Education Committee of the SC Duck Stamp Program and plans and coordinates fundraising events for SC Duck’s Unlimited that grosses more than $50,000 annually for wetland conservation.
Amick served as a state officer of SC FFA Association while in college and was chosen by the 600,000- member National FFA Organization to participate in its first International Agricultural Study Tour to China.
Presently serving as a member of the National Agricultural Alumni Board of the College of the Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences at Clemson University, Amick is the son of Blake and Dell Amick of Columbia. He was nominated for the prestigious award by John W. Parris of Columbia, director of the SC Agri-News Service and a charter member of Clemson’s National Agricultural Alumni Board of Directors.
