
When it’s hot outside, West Columbia offers several venues to find a cool drink where you can relax
July in South Carolina is hot and the summer of 2026 is no exception. With temperatures toasty, it’s a good idea to look for something frosty to cool you down. West Columbia restaurants, breakfast stops and coffee shops, when it’s hot, adjust their drink selections in an effort to help you cool down in the summertime.

Cafe Strudel
Cafe Strudel at 300 State Street in West columbia serves made-to-order breakfast and lunch, in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Cafe Strudel is known for its brunch crowds.
General Manager Casi Sawyer said Cafe Strudel has a long list of drinks made especially for the summer.
“We have a new Sarti Spritz,” she said. It’s a vibrant, fruity cocktail with Prosecco and Sarti Rosa poured over ice. Other summertime favorites at Cafe Strudel are: the Hawaiian Mojito; the Hawaiin mimosa; the cranberry mule; and the coconut margarita.
WECO Bottle and Biergarten
Lawson Giles works the tap at WECO Bottle and Biergarten.
“In the summer we serve lighter beer,” Lawson said. “We serve more lager beers and cider. We also have boiled peanuts in the summer, it’s a seasonal thing.”
You’ll find: The Angler Everyday Brew Lager by Hopfly Brewing Co.: Grimm Air Stream West Coast Style pale Ale; and a Peaches ‘N Cream brew at WECO Bottle and Biergarten this summer. There is also a large wine selection at WECO Bottle and Biergarten, featuring several brands of white wines that include Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
WECO Bottle and Biergarten offers an outside courtyard with a food truck regularly on the grounds. And you can buy your favoite brands of brew and wine to go.
The Hideout Cafe
Misty Miller is the manager of The Hideout in WECO. It’s a West Columbia favorite for a cool and refreshing drink. The Hideout serves iced coffee, frozen coffee and smoothies.The Hideout can get creative when it comes to the drinks it serves.
Austin, who works behind the counter, referred to The Hideout’s Cold Brew lineup. It features: The Cosmic Love, made with raspberry and white chocolate; The Clockwork Orange, made with orange, brown sugar and vanilla; and the iced spice, made with brown sugar and cinnamon.

The Hideout also creates drinks fashioned after celebrities, including: Lady GaGa, Post Malone; and Dolly Parton. The Citrus Swift, for Taylor Swift, is made with orange, vanilla and lemon cold foam.
BrickHouse Gourmet Coffee and Tea Co.
Akera Sellers is the owner of BrickHouse Gourmet Coffee and Tea Co. at 729 Meeting St. If you want to sit and visit, with a cold brew, Brickhouse can accommodate you.
Akera said he serves a lot more iced coffee in the summer months and he has an iced coffee machine that produces a rich and cold, highly processed iced coffee.
Ikie Lu Record Club
You can also get a cool refreshing drink at Ikie Lu Record Club at 601 N Lucas St . It’s a Jazz Kissa, Supper Club and Wine Shop open Thu-Fri : 3:30 – 9 p.m. and Sat: from 11:30 – 9 p.m. Sunday is for Members Only.
