West of the River Weekend begins Friday

“The Greater Cayce – West Columbia Chamber of Commerce is excited about the upcoming West of the River Weekend. This weekend is a great opportunity for the Chamber to be a bridge between our municipal partners and promote the entire weekend under one brand. We expect record turnouts at all the events, which will also drive traffic to the businesses on the Lexington County side of the river. We feel like this weekend has a little bit of something for everyone,” said Richard Skipper, executive director of the Greater Cayce – West Columbia Chamber of Commerce.

“We kick it off with a Friday night edition of Rhythm on the River featuring Lexington County’s own nationally recognized BC Villanova and Friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Riverwalk Amphitheater,” said Skipper. “Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., we have West Columbia’s 2nd Annual Kinetic Derby Day which features a kinetic parade, derby car races, food trucks and activities for the kids.

“And Saturday 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., we close out the day with the 3rd Annual Soiree on State. This event on State Street in Cayce will feature the Festival of Arts, food trucks, a kid’s area, and music. The headliner for Soiree on State will be local favorite Tokyo Joe,” he said.
“We hope this weekend will become a favorite of the residents and businesses in our Chamber area and will also bring people from the Richland County side of the river. The Soda Cap Connector will be bringing people over from Columbia with stops at all the events. The Chamber is looking forward to an epic weekend.”Richard Skipper
