West Columbia’s Savage Craft Ale Works celebrates successful 1st year in business
West Columbia’s Savage Craft Ale Works celebrated its first year in business, Saturday.
The micro-brewery opened to a large crowd at 430 Center St. in late January 2021. The business has thrived despite the spectre of COVID.
Savage Craft is housed in the renovated old Brookland City Hall and Fire Station building. The structure was built in 1925. The old Brookland Jail serves as Savage Craft’s kitchen and an additional serving area. The renovation project was a major undertaking.
Savage Craft offers a restaurant menu and is billed as a “world-class venue” and “a community hub for West Columbia. Through leading-edge brewing styles.” Its “team of veterans brings first responders, military and civilians together to share a beer that nourishes a spirit of curiosity and collaboration.”
Savage Craft also has a regular line-up a musicians who play the venue.
