West Columbia woman identified by Lexington County Coroner as victim in fatal I-26 crash

Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher, has identified the individual who died in a single-vehicle collision near the 112 mile marker of I-26 in the West Columbia area of Lexington County at approximately 4:45 p.m, Wednesday.

According to Fisher, Ms. Victoria Ryan Johnson, 50, of West Columbia was traveling westbound on I-26 when her vehicle traveled right off the roadway, overcorrected, and hit the median concrete barrier. Ms. Johnson, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries sustained in the collision.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the incident.
