Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the victim of a homicide that occurred shortly before  9 a.m., Friday. The incident took place in the 1400 block of Platt Springs Road in West Columbia.

According to Fisher, Edward N. Walker, 38, of Columbia suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was pronounced dead near the scene of the shooting. The West Columbia Police Department is investigating, and one suspect is in custody.
