West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater reopens with new surface

The West Columbia Amphitheater and parking lot on the city’s Riverwalk is now open to the public after being temporarily closed for improvements to the amphitheater.

The seating and stage areas were resurfaced to improve the experience for all visitors to the Riverwalk.

The West Columbia Riverwalk and Amphitheater is a frequented spot for rafters, Rhythm on the River Concert goers, and other events in the Midlands. The first event to be held at the Amphitheater after the upgrades are complete will be Solar Fest West – A Total Eclipse in the Park, the eclipse viewing event on August 21, from noon  – 4 p.m.

Crews put the finishing touches on the re-done amphitheater Friday afternoon.
