West Columbia provides parking options on State Street while art park is built
The City of West Columbia is providing numerous parking options for customers frequenting businesses on the 100 Block of State Street during the construction of the Interactive Art Park. It is slated to open in late spring on the backside of the 100 block of State Street.
Preferred parking options are the on-street parking spaces on State Street and the use of the complimentary valet parking close to the corner of Center and State Streets.
The Capitol Square (483 Sunset Boulevard) parking lot is also available as a self-parking option (Please use all designated crosswalks and follow all pedestrian laws.)
Tem Miles, West Columbia Mayor Pro-Tem who is also the councilman of the State Street District, said, “We are open for business with free parking for all, even as construction is underway. The work being done will make the State Street District an even better entertainment destination. Thank you for being patient while we keep improving our city.”
Complimentary valet parking will be available, during construction, on the following days and times of the week:
Tuesday – Thursday: 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Friday: 4 p.m. – Midnight
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., 4 p.m. – Midnight
Sunday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
When the Interactive Art Park and parking lot is completed, the current lot will be transformed to include additional parking spaces, an artisan market, and interactive art sculptures from a variety of local artists.
