At approximately 7 p.m. Tuesday, officers with the West Columbia Police Department responded to a call from the 1400 block of Alpine Drive, in Westover Acres, in reference to a domestic disturbance. Units from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, and West Columbia Fire Department, were also on the scene.

Upon arrival to the residence, officers found that a suspect, 44-year-old Jamie Spencer of West Columbia, barricaded himself inside a residence. Officers were eventually able to communicate with Mr. Spencer and have him peacefully surrender to law enforcement. Mr. Spencer is being charged with Domestic Violence 2nd Degree and will be booked at the Lexington County Detention Center.
