West Columbia Police officers, Turner AME Church collecting school supplies

The City of West Columbia, West Columbia Police Department, and Turner Memorial AME Church are teaming up to provide school supplies to those in need in Lexington School District 2.

Assistant Chief Scott Morrison said, “The City is excited to partner with Turner Memorial AME and we hope that this effort will allow the children to begin the school year with all of the tools they need.”

Donations can be given to any officer, dropped off at the Police Department, 200 N. 12th Street, West Columbia, or to arrange a pickup, contact Captain John Norman at 803-936-6280. Any and all school supplies and monetary donations will be accepted. The deadline for donations is Friday, August 17, 2018, at 5 PM.

The donations will be distributed at the Turner Memorial AME Church Back-to-School event where families in need can attend and receive a book bag with school supplies.
