West Columbia Police Department conducting “Fan the Heat” project to give fans to those in need
The West Columbia Police Department is in full swing of its “Fan the Heat” project.
The “Fan the Heat” project was started years ago for the citizens of the City of West Columbia in order to provide box fans to those in need, particularly the elderly and those with medical conditions.
Chief Dennis Tyndall stated, “This project is vital to our community. Many people are vulnerable to the heat this time of year. We, as an agency, try very hard to help those who are home-bound to make their lives more comfortable during these months.”
If you would like to donate a new fan or if you need a fan, please contact Sgt. Ronald Fair at 803-794-0721 ext. 827. Tax-deductible financial contributions should be made to the West Columbia Police Officers’ Foundation.
