Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died in a house fire that occurred in the 100 block of Howitzer Circle in the West Columbia area of Lexington County shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday.

According to Fisher, Mr. Victor Emerson Jones, 65, of West Columbia, was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, September 6th at 10:30 AM at MUSC in Charleston.

The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
