Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has positively identified the individual who died due to a motorcycle vs vehicle accident in the 400 block of Sunset Blvd – in front of Capitol Square – in West Columbia at approximately 4:20 P.M. on Sunday.

According to Fisher, Mr. Jose Antonio Colon, 59, of West Columbia was traveling westbound on Sunset Blvd when a vehicle turned in front of him. Mr. Colon, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead due to the injuries sustained in the collision. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and West Columbia Police Department continue to investigate the incident.
