South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Martin Andrew Lagasse (DOB: 9/5/1961) of West Columbia, on 13 charges connected to sexual exploitation of minors. The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force made the arrest. Investigators with the Attorney General’s Office assisted with the investigation.

Investigators state that Lagasse was involved in distributing child pornography via the Internet.
Lagasse was arrested on Dec. 6. He is charged with 13 counts Sexual Exploitation of a Minor Second Degree (§16-15-405) a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.

Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
