Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died after a police pursuit near the 114-mile marker of I-26 in the Cayce area of Lexington County at approximately 11:40 p.m. on Friday.

According to Fisher, Mr. Raheem Jamar Bonham, 30, of West Columbia exited his vehicle during the pursuit, crossed over the center concrete divider, and was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-26.

Mr. Bonham was pronounced dead on scene due to the injuries he sustained after being struck.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the incident.
