From Bar-B-Que river tubing, and craft beer, to live music, fireworks, and the Lexington County Peach Festival, there’s many ways around West Columbia to celebrate July 4.
While West Columbia City Hall will close on July 3, some West Columbia businesses will open for July 4th holiday festivities.
West Columbia barbeque is a part of the Fourth of July celebration for many.
True BBQ
True BBQ at 1237 D Avenue, in Triangle City, will be open and serving on July 4th.
True BBQ’s July 4th Holiday menu includes beef brisket, pork ribs, brisket links, baked beans, collard greens and smoked chicken wings. Deserts include peach cobbler and banana pudding.

Hite’s BBQ
The Fourth of July is the busiest day of the year at Hite’s Barbeque at 240 Dreher Rd, West Columbia. Barbeque lovers fill the Hite’s parking lot on July 4th and there’s a long line of customers who have made Hite’s Barbeque a tradition on July 4.
“We’ll be open Friday and Saturday (July 3 and 4.) The July 4th weekend is as big as 8 weekends combined,” said Hite’s owner David Hite. “We plan to cook four whole hogs, 200 hams, 500 chickens, 300 gallons of hash, and 600 pounds of ribs. And we smoke everything over oak and hickory wood.”

Another popular West Columbia activity during the week of July 4th, includes tubing trips down the Congaree River.
Fourth of July is typically the busiest day of the year for Palmetto Outdoor, said Michael Mayo, owner of Palmetto Outdoor. Town of Lexington 250th Independence Day Celebration
Town of Lexington Independence Day Celebration – Friday, July 3, 2026 | 6-10 PM | Icehouse Amphitheater
Celebrate at the Town of Lexington 250th Independence Day Event at the Icehouse Amphitheater. It’s a free community event that brings residents and visitors together for an evening of patriotic festivities, live music, family-friendly activities, and a spectacular fireworks display.
The celebration begins with special America 250-themed activities, followed by a performance from the Lexington Community Band, which will fill the evening with patriotic music and classic selections. There will also be food, beverages, games, and activities.
The night closes with a fireworks show that lights up the Lexington sky to commemorate the nation’s 250th birthday. It’ll be a memorable way to honor America’s history and enjoy a summer night in Lexington.
The Lexington County Peach Festival
The 66th Annual Lexington County Peach Festival is in Gilbert on Saturday July 4. It’s a full day of family-friendly fun that honors Independence Day and Lexington County’s proud tradition of peach production.
Up-to 35,000 thousand travel to Gilbert for this beloved Fourth of July tradition. The day begins with the Peach Parade at 9:30 a.m.. Then festival activities continue at Gilbert Community Park. Enjoy fresh peach treats, local craft vendors, food trucks, an antique car show, live music, and a fireworks show to close out the evening.
Parking is available for $5 per vehicle. Parking proceeds benefit local student groups from Gilbert area schools who organize and staff the lots.

Fort Jackson

Fireworks With the Phil
Fireworks With the Phil is an evening of patriotic music, family-friendly entertainment and a robust fireworks display to Segra Park on Saturday, June 27.
The annual event features the South Carolina Philharmonic orchestra performing American classic music and patriotic tunes. The evening will conclude with an extended fireworks show synchronized to a live performance of the “1812 Overture.”
The celebration will commemorate South Carolina’s role in the American Revolution, and the state’s decisive victory at the Battle of Sullivan’s Island on June 28, 1776. The battle is recognized as a key early victory against the British.
Food and beverage concessions will be available and there’s a Kids Zone that will be open from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Discounted tickets are available for military members, seniors and first responders. Event organizers also noted that a limited number of suites, club seats and bullpen boxes remain available.
