1 A Halloween

West Columbia Halloween offers Trunk-or-Treat galore and the Fall Back Fest is Friday, Nov. 1

Halloween is Thursday, Oct. 31. Many homes in West Columbia are dressed up for the spooky season. It’s worth a ride around town after dark to see scary decorations, especially on Redbird Lane. Also in West Columbia, the Trunk-or-Treat opportunities are plentiful and the City of West Columbia’s Eighth Annual Fall Back Fest is Friday, Nov. 1.

Also, in the Halloween season, Trick-or-Treaters are anticipating lots of candy, but they should be cautious, said West Columbia Police Chief Marion Boyce. Boyce said Trick-or-Treaters should wear bright-colored clothes and carry flashlights or glow sticks so that they can be seen more easily. He said it is important to be cautious and parents should walk their child to the door and don’t let them go inside.

Boyce also advised inspecting the candy given to kids on Halloween. Make sure none of it has been re-wrapped. If anything looks suspicious or like it’s been tampered with; if it looks out of place, don’t eat it.

Wooden Dead – Redbird Lane

The day after Halloween, the City of West of West Columbia Fall Back Fest is from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the 100-300 blocks of State Street. The free event welcomes the community and visitors to celebrate the fall season with live music, art, food, and drinks.

Local artists will paint temporary murals on the street during the event. The music lineup includes headliner The Big Time Band and Six One Five Collective. Local vendors will provide food and beverages. In addition to the festivities on State Street, the Meeting Street Artisan Market Night Edition will be held in the Interactive Art Park, offering attendees a chance to shop for unique, handcrafted gifts while supporting local artists and creators.
