The West Columbia City Council recognized Cayce-West Columbia Diamond Youth Baseball “O”Zone All-StarBaseball Team for winning the 2024 South Carolina Diamond Youth Baseball Division 2
“O”Zone State Championship. The All-Star Baseball Team players are Lance Anfinson, Kolton Bolin, Parker Burge, Braydon Busbee, Logan Hildebrand, Baskins McCraw, Kameron Pringle, Bentley Ritchie, Chaston Smith, Ryan Watkins, and Logan ‘LT’ Whitney; and the team is coached by Brandon Busbee and Cory Anfinson and managed by Terry Hildebrand;

The Resolution is below:

WHEREAS, Cayce-West Columbia “O”Zone All-Star Baseball Team is comprised of 11 players, twelve and under, chosen from CWC’s regular season teams. Players were selected by the team managers based on the individual player’s outstanding performance during the regular season; and
WHEREAS, Cayce-West Columbia “O”Zone All-Star Baseball Team players are Lance Anfinson, Kolton Bolin, Parker Burge, Braydon Busbee, Logan Hildebrand, Baskins McCraw, Kameron Pringle, Bentley Ritchie, Chaston Smith, Ryan Watkins, and Logan ‘LT’ Whitney; and
WHEREAS, Cayce-West Columbia “O”Zone All-Star Baseball Team is coached by Brandon Busbee and Cory Anfinson and managed by Terry Hildebrand; and
WHEREAS, over the week of June 8-12th, Cayce-West Columbia “O”Zone All-Star Baseball Team won the South Carolina District 4 Championship held in Gaston, South Carolina. The team defeated Pelion, Swansea, Gaston, and Pineview District 4 All-Star teams, outscoring their opponents 59-0; and
WHEREAS, over the week of July 6-11th, Cayce-West Columbia “O”Zone All-Star Baseball Team won the South Carolina DYB D2 “O”Zone State Championship at Patriot Park Baseball Complex in Sumter, SC. They defeated Bamberg, Johnsonville, Lancaster, Latta, and Pee Dee “O”Zone All-Star Teams, outscoring their opponents 55-4. Most impressive is the team’s batting average of .462, a new State Record; and
WHEREAS, Cayce-West Columbia “O”Zone All-Star Baseball Team advanced to represent South Carolina in the Diamond Youth Baseball World Series in Bossier City, Louisianna which began July 25th. The team finished third out of eleven
teams; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of West Columbia does hereby recognize Cayce-West Columbia “O”Zone All-Star Baseball Team and its coaches for their determination, hard work, and outstanding season;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council wishes to congratulate the Cayce-West Columbia “O”Zone All-Star Baseball Team for winning the 2024 South Carolina Diamond Youth Baseball Division 2 “O”Zone State Championship and extends its best wishes to the coaches and players for continued achievement and success in the future.
