West Columbia City Council passes first reading of plan for 27 new homes, with commercial space, on Center Street – See renderings of new homes
West Columbia City Council approved first reading, Tuesday, of a plan that will result in the construction of 27 houses and commercial space on a vacant lot.
Phillip Laughridge of The Wilson Company, the developers, was at the council meeting, Tuesday and he shared renderings of the homes that will be built on the property.
The new development is planned for 2.09 acres on by Cromwell Street. The north boundary of the property is on Center Street and the south boundary fronts Augusta Street. The site is one block off of Meeting Street (US 1.) It’s a Residential Planned Urban Development project containing 27 homes and commercial space.
Laughridge said no groundbreaking date for the development has been set because there is still some infrastructure permitting ongoing with Lexington County.
St. Anns Alley is just a couple of blocks from the site. It consists of 42 homes. Those homes sold quickly in a real estate market with quickly rising prices.
