West Columbia adopting family opens apparel business to promote adoption and foster care awareness
Marked Apparel, a brand designed to “share the love of God through truth and testimony,” launched earlier this year. Chuck and Amanda Underhill’s vision to use apparel as an avenue to encourage faith conversations was started after years of development and personal interest.
Run out of their West Columbia home, with an online sales focus, the company is proud of all their designs, but one in particular stands out.
“We are an adoptive family, and many in our community have also walked through adoption and foster care testimonies. We really wanted to make a difference, and so we felt lead to design our “FAMILY” line of products,” said Amanda Underhill.
Caroline Underhill created the design that includes a “+1” incorporated within the design.
“The logo carries the testimony of obedience in saying yes to a child in need of a family,” said Chuck Underhill. “Family is God’s idea. There is a special miracle when God grows a family by adoption and foster care.”
Even as a small start-up business, the Underhill’s wanted to make an impact beyond just awareness.
“We donate 50% of the profit from any of our “FAMILY” line of products to foster and adoption ministries. It’s a small way we can show how much we care, and where our priorities are. God calls us to love those in hard places, and this is just an area we feel very compelled to help,” said Caroline Underhill, designer of the “FAMILY” logo.

Chuck said, “We desire to share the love of God through Biblical truth and personal testimony, and we hope all of our designs help those who wear them to do just that, making much of Jesus every single day.”
