A Calhoun County man is accused of forcefully entering homes and demanding to be shown to a safe.

Andre Terrell McFadden, 20, is charged with kidnapping, safe cracking, burglary, first degree assault and battery, armed robbery and possessing a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.

“Based on information detectives have confirmed during their investigation, McFadden went in and made people show him to their safe while holding them at gunpoint,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “He got away with cash and jewelry.”

The West Columbia Police Department has also charged McFadden in a similar case in its jurisdiction.
“Both agencies worked well together and shared important information as our cases developed,” Koon said. “Our investigations are still open and more charges are possible.”

Koon said Lexington County investigators charged McFadden in connection to a January break-in at a house in the 1400 block of Beaver Dam Road.
McFadden is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.
