Vista Art and Framing in Cayce, owned by the Lorick Family in the “Cayce Business Spotlight”
If you need framing for art, or any other document or momento, Vista Art and Framing, at 1752 Airport Boulevard in Cayce, is the place to go.
Vista Art and Framing is family owned and it’s been operating for 33 years. Bill Lorick founded the shop while working part-time at UPS. He’s since retired from UPS and runs the shop daily.
“We specialize in South Carolina Art publishing,” Bill said. “And we do custom framing of any kind, including shadow boxes.”
Bill has the great framed shots of Williams-Brice Stadium, with the iconic scene of the USC team running onto the field to 2001. He has depictions of Clemson’s packed, orange-drenched Death Valley, too.
In addition to that, Vista Art, which has a staff of four, conducts signing events with USC and Clemson players. The shop has a full line of autographed memorabilia, art work, jerseys, footballs and helmets from players and coaches.
The Loricks have strong roots in the community. A house built by his grandparents is the site of the Vista Art gallery. Bill and his family live next door in a house also built by his grandparents in the 1940s. The business is definitely a family operation.
“I grew up in Cayce and my wife, Wanda, who is a nurse, grew up in Springdale. We are both Airport High School graduates,” Bill said. “We started dating in our senior year of high school and we’ve been married for 28 years. Our son, Will, went to Airport and Wesley graduated from Gray Collegiate Academy. We are lifelong locals.”
The shop is in District 3, represented by Cayce City Councilman Hunter Sox. He’s a customer, too.
“Vista Art and Framing is more than just a framing shop,” said Sox. “It’s a cornerstone business for District 3. Bill and Wanda’s dedication to their craft and customers reflects the heart of what makes Cayce special. Small businesses like theirs are the backbone of our community, providing exceptional services and fostering personal connections that make our city feel like home. I had my college diploma framed there.”
Bill presents his work at street markets, festivals, expositions all over the state. Anywhere people come out to look, Vista Art wants to have a presence.
Bill said his diploma custom-framing is a big hit with USC and Clemson graduates. Veterans also reach out to him to have their medals framed. He has done work for the Cayce Police Department and the City of Cayce. And he has had a great relationship with the city for all of his years in business.
Sox also said Bill and Wanda’s spirit has been passed down.
“Their passion and commitment exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit that drives Cayce forward,” Sox said. “And it has rubbed off on their son Wesley, who recently started his own landscaping business. We’re proud to have them as a part of Cayce’s business family.”
