A crew from the S.C. Department of Natural Resources used heavy equipment to remove sheet piles from the Congaree Creek dam, Tuesday — Removing the dam, said DNR, will restore the natural flow of the creek and improve habitat for aquatic species, in addition to eliminating a safety hazard for boaters.
