Victim of fire identified by Lexington County coroner
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of the individual found deceased following a residential structure fire that occurred at approximately 3 a.m., Thursday in the 1400 block of Waterwood Drive in Columbia.According to Coroner Fisher, a resident of the home, Mr. Joel Edward Ferris, 69, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another occupant of the residence was transported to an
area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation by the Irmo Police Department is ongoing.
