The accident occurred at 3:18 p.m., according to the S.C.  Highway Patrol. The accident involved a 2006 Chevrolet and a 2004 Pontiac. The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The were other injuries reported, including a passenger in the Chevrolet,   but not life-threatening. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released by the Lexington County Coroner.
