UPDATE: Unexpected problem results in water outage for 200

Update on Water Line Relocation Project (7:47 p.m., Sunday)

The contractor completing the water line relocation for the city of West Columbia completed the final line tie in today at 1:30 PM. Unfortunately, a leak developed in one of the connections once the water was turned on. The city had to turn the water off again so that the contractor can complete the necessary repair. Water service has been restored to some customers on Mineral Springs Road, but the majority of customers affected by this outage are still without water. Crews are working to repair the line and restore service at this moment. We anticipate water will be restored before midnight tonight.
