The S.C. Department of Transportation is reporting that an illegal, oversized vehicle (other sources report it was a dump truck) struck the US 1 bridge (at mile marker 58) over the I-20 eastbound lanes Tuesday afternoon.

SCDOT inspectors were on-site to analyze the damage to the bridge. Traffic was detoured. All lanes of I-20 were reported, by the SCDOT, to be re-opened around 4:25 p.m., Tuesday.  SCDOT/Lexington County photos.
