The Cayce Fire Department responded to a fire at CMC Steel just before 3 p.m. Tuesday. Cayce Fire crews were assisted by Lexington County Fire Service and the West Columbia Fire Department to fight the commercial structure fire.

When units arrived, heavy black smoke was coming from the roof of the building. Crews entered and discovered heavy fire in a paint booth. The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported. The site was eventually cleared. CFD photos
