Two men die in Congaree River flooding accident

to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts.
Their bodies were found inside the submerged vehicle they were in. The vehicle they were in fell off a collapsed road into flood waters.

Reportedly, a barrier had been removed, before the vehicle fell into a part of damaged road, and into the flood water on Congaree Road and Cedar Creek.
The bodies were pulled from the vehicle around noon Wednesday. Three other people in the vehicle were rescued.
Vance was from Kentucky, and McDonald was from Ohio. the two men were subcontractors with RJ Corman Railroad Group out of Nicholasville, KY. The were on their way to a job site when the flood-related incident occurred.

As many as nine people have died in flood-related accidents in Richland County. No deaths related to the flood have been reported by Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.
