Treasurer Curtis Loftis to Attend State Fair for “Seniors Day” Unclaimed Property and Future Scholar Booths Will Be in AARP Pavilion
Wednesday is Seniors Day at the S.C. State Fair and you can celebrate by heading to the AARP Pavilion!
The State Treasurer’s Office is teaming up with AARP to add to the celebration. Booths from the State Treasurer’s Unclaimed Property Program and the Future Scholar 529 College Savings Program will be in the AARP Pavilion in the Rosewoods Building from 10 am to 3 pm.
State Treasurer Curtis Loftis – who lives in West Columbia- announced he will be on hand inside the AARP Pavilion from 11 am to 1 pm on Seniors Day. Treasurer Loftis will be available for interviews.
Wouldn’t it be great to find money at the Fair? The Unclaimed Property Program is currently holding over $503 million and some of it may belong to you. It only takes a moment to check your name.
The Future Scholar 529 College Savings Program will provide information at their booth about how to open a tax-advantaged college savings plan for a child or grandchild. Future Scholar, administered by the State Treasurer’s Office, is South Carolina’s smart and easy way to save for college.
AARP South Carolina is the title sponsor for Seniors Day on Wednesday Oct. 19. You can swing by the AARP Pavilion for an assortment of age-friendly resources and entertainment!
