Traffic circle coming to Fish Hatchery Road, in Lexington County
A traffic circle, for the sake of safety, is coming to Fish Hatchery Road at Busbee Road in Lexington County, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.
The intersection will be turned into an “all-way” stop beginning Monday (Oct. 19.) The all-way stop will to remain in place until the traffic circle is completed.
The SCDOT estimates that construction will be completed by the late summer of 2021. SCDOT will issue notifications prior to any other changes to the road’s traffic pattern.
The project is funded by the new state gas tax. The tax supports SCDOT’s 10-Year Plan to improve the quality of roads and bridges in the state after 30 years of deferred maintenance, due to lack of funding.
Drivers traveling through the work zone are asked to be aware of equipment and crews working adjacent to traffic at all times.
