Tracy Hegler is stepping down from her position as Cayce city manager

Tracy Hegler is leaving her position as Cayce city manager. She has been in the job for almost six years.

After a long closed session, Cayce City Council came back into session and Councilman Tim James made a motion that Hegler will leave under a “mutually agreed voluntary separation” as of Friday, July 17. The motion passed with a 4-to-1 vote. James, Hunter Sox, Byron Thomas, and Phil Carter voted to approve the separation motion. Cayce Mayor Elise Partin voted “no.”

Cayce Deputy City Manager Jim Crosland was appointed as interim city manager until a replacement for Hegler is found.

All council members thanked Hegler for her service to Cayce. Partin said Hegler has been praised as the best city manager Cayce has ever had. Hegler pictured to the left.
