Tornado touches down in Lexington County, if Lexington County residents have substantial damage, please report it
Emergency Management officials have confirmed a tornado touched down near Old Orangeburg Rd. and Platt Springs Rd. in Lexington County, Wednesday. Officials also received reports of downed trees and powerlines and flooding across Lexington County.
The Lexington County Emergency Management Office is working on preliminary damage assessment from Wednesday’s severe weather. At this time, no significant damage has been seen or reported. If any Lexington County residents have substantial damage they would like to report, please call the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department‘s non-emergency line at 803-785-2521 or your local police department’s non-emergency line. We will continue to monitor the weather and respond as needed to any damage reports if necessary.
