Timothy Jones was found guilty Tuesday of murdering all five of his children.

After a three-week trial, the Lexington County jury deliberated for a little more than six hours before returning with a verdict. The children ranged in age from 1-to-8.

They were killed in a mobile home in Red Bank by Jones in August 2014. He was arrested in Mississippi after killing the children. He beat one of the children to death. He strangled the other four.

The names of each of Jones’ five children: were read as the guilty verdict was announced. There children were: Merah, 8; Elias, 7; Nathan, 6, Gabriel, 2; and Abigail Elaine, 1.

Jones, 37, confessed to killing his children. But the jury could have found him insane.

Phase two of the trial, before sentencing, will begin at 8:45 a.m. Jurors were instructed not to discuss the case or conduct any interviews or use social media.

In the second phase of the trial jurors will hear more testimony. Jones faces a sentence of death or life in prison.
