Tickets left for Feb. 25, Rocketman tribute to Elton John by Tokyo Joe Productions

 

Greg Bickley and his band, Tokyo Joe, will perform “ROCKETMAN,” A Tribute to Sir Elton John, at the RocketKoger Center for the Arts. The show is at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 25.

Tickets are $30 ($25 for military and students), and may be purchased on-line at Click for Rocketman Tickets or at the Koger Center box office. Proceeds from the show will go to Nancy K Perry Children’s Shelter and Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter.

When many people think of Elton John, they immediately think of his trademark sunglasses and outrageous costumes. However, anyone who has seen a live Elton John performance knows that it has always been first and foremost about the music.

Tokyo Joe’s Rocketman Tribute conforms to the model of a real Elton John concert.

While going to great lengths to wear costumes that are exact replicas as those worn by Elton himself, and to entertain visually with state of the art lighting, Rocketman is ultimately about the songs that real like a soundtrack to the lives of so many people.

Rocket 2Performed by the Columbia, SC based rock quartet, Tokyo Joe, Rocketman is sure to leave every Elton John fan feeling as though they have experienced a tribute performance worthy of the original. Anyone who loves Elton John and his music will love this show.

Formed in 1996, Tokyo Joe ranks as one of the south’s most popular musical acts performing an average of 200 shows a year in the southeast. They have accumulated an impressive list of band awards that include, Best Rock/Pop Band ;Best CD Release and selected as Best Band  in Savannah, Columbia, Hilton Head and Beaufort.

The band has independently released six CDs. Their fourth CD, In This Lifetime, was picked as the Best CD by a Local Artist" by the Free Times Best of Columbia 2005.

Tokyo Joe was voted “Best Local Band” four years consecutive years by readers of The State newspaper.
