The Final Door in Cayce is the No. 1 Escape Room and it’s in The Business Spotlight
What is an escape room? You’re placed in a room, with a theme, and instructed to decipher clues and solve a series of puzzles, within a certain amount of time, to find the key to unlock the room.

Lexie Fenske and her sister, Tracy, went to an escape room 10 years ago, and loved it. That was the beginning of The Final Door at 930 Knox-Abbott Drive in Cayce.
The high emersion escape rooms provide captivating fun for friends, family and work teams. Themes include: Down the Rabbit Hole; Blackout, The Vampyr; and The Sacrifice.
“To create an immersive and unique escape room experience is thrilling,” said Lexie. “I have a passion for it and that’s why I’m always working to make The Final Door Better. I want to provide an unforgettable experience for everyone who comes into The Final Door.”
The Final Door is Cayce’s only escape room and it’s the top destination for escapology in the area. “Morty” is an app where escape room enthusiasts, those with as many as 300 escape room visits, go to rate destinations. The Final Door has a “Very Positive” rating on Morty.
“The Final Door is very well-known,” said Lexie. “We welcome lots of out-of-town visitors.” She explained that groups of escape room travelers plan trips to escape rooms up and down the East Coast. “We’re known as a really good escape room because they love the challenge”

Young professionals, groups of teachers and others, Lexie said, come to The Final Door for a team building experience.
Lexie also said The Final Door is one of three popular escape rooms in the state. She mentioned Escape Artist in Greenville and Lock, Clock, and Peril Escape Room in Sumter as other destination escape rooms.
Cayce Mayor Elise Partin said The Final Door is an important part of Cayce.
“Small businesses, like the Final Door, are the fabric of our community,” said Partin. “And we’re proud of our women-owned businesses.”
The mayor said she has brought visiting members of her extended family to The Final Door and “everyone had a blast.”
Lexie is fond of the City of Cayce, too.
The City of Cayce has been great,” Lexie said. “Cayce is very supportive of small business and Cayce is a great place to open a business. I’m glad we chose Cayce as a location.”
Lexie opened The Final Door with her sister, Tracy. Lexie left a career in sales to open it. Since opening, Tracy has left the business and Lexie is the sole owner.
“It has taken a lot of hard work and sacrifice to build what we have, but it’s been worth it,” Lexie said. She is also proud of being independent. “The escape room industry is a small niche market. We are not a franchise. The Final Door is locally owned and operated and we’ve made a name for ourselves.”
